He's at it again...

Allow me to introduce you to "The Maeve-mobile". Yep. You guessed it. My greatest fan, supporter, and push-wife-out-into-the-crowd person is at it again. Namely: My Darling Husband - DH for short.

We bought our RV this summer. It's an integral link in our "five year plan". You see, DH and I are at the point where we're actually beginning to see the light at the end of the day job tunnel. That shining beacon known as retirement.

When we came across a good deal on an RV, we decided it was time to purchase our retirement home on wheels. Of course, DH said he'd drive it to all of my book signings when I became a rich and famous author. I joked by saying we could call it the "Maeve-mobile" and have my website and tagline painted on the sides.

Well. It's not paint. It's professionally done graphics by Satis-factions. (If you're interested in all sorts of promo, here's their link: http://www.satis-factions.com/graphics/graphics.htm They're uber-affordable.)

Anyway...I guess this will teach me to be careful what I joke about around the DH.
It puts ideas in his head!

  40. Oh my, Maeve--is he a Leo, too? (They always do things on a grand scale, lol.) What an awesome gift! Just showed mine your pics--he's already asking if I want one like it.

Let me know when you're in my area :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks Marianne! Yep. He's definitely a keeper.

LOL! No, Joanna. Actually, he's a Libra. Perhaps he was a Leo in a past life. I'll definitely give you a shout if we get to your neck-of-the-woods. Better take hubby up on the idea while he's asking! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I guess you've already figured out that he's a keeper, huh? Lol. Seriously though, you are so fortunate to have a hubby who so wholeheartedly supports & believes in you. That personalized RV is soooo much better than getting a box of chocolates.

    Alicia

    ReplyDelete
  43. You're right, Alicia! And the RV won't add a few more layers onto my "muffin tops" like a box of chocolates would. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  44. OMG Maeve, that is so sweet that I could cry! Talk about the power of having someone back you 100%. Now that's a good man!

  45. Looks like a great big tax write-off to me! A mobile billboard. Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  46. What can I say that hasn't been said already? I found your camper delightfully sweet and humourous at the same time. What a conversation starter. Maeve, honey, you won't be able to go anywhere without a pile of your books tucked into a cabinet, 'cause ladies will stop and ask. Should be great for sales!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Amen Lizzie! I never would've made it this far without the support (and nudging) of my family.

    Thanks Molly!

Ha! And that's a GOOD thing. Right, Sarah?

From your lips to reader's ears, Vonnie!!! We can only hope. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Maeve, that is the sweetest thing ever! Your DH is a keeper for sure, lucky lady. I hope your travels include PA.

    ReplyDelete
  49. What a sweet thing to do!! I too have a super supportive DH who playfully says he'll quit his day job to be my 'gofer' when I'm rich and famous! LOL I'm sure the RV is going to be loads of fun, and a source for inspiration.

    Happy trails!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Maeve, what a great idea and what a sweet husband. My dh is also supportive of me and of my writing, but I can't get him interested in an RV. Looks as if you're all set for the road to fame and relaxation.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thanks so much, Gale! If we make our way to PA, I'll be sure to look you up. :-)

LOL! Where would we be without our supportive "go-fers", Roz?

*Big Grin* I don't know about the fame part, Caroline but I'm definitely looking forward to driving relaxation road! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wow Maeve, I so excited for you! Your husband sounds like a wonderful man and I love that he is so supportive of you. I know you will both enjoy the RV and have all kinds of fun stories to share with a promo like that on the side. I will be looking for you on the highways! ;-D

Give that DH a big hug and kiss!

    ReplyDelete
  63. LOL! Now wouldn't that be awesome, Cate? Caravans of fans? *big grin* And I've been telling hubby about everyone's kind words about him - he's adorable when his ears turn red with embarrassment!
